Dear Friend of the Library,
The Marian Sutherland Kirby Library is in its 21st year of service to the Mountaintop Area. We have experienced
challenging times along with rewarding ones but thankfully, with your help and support, we have survived and look
forward to fulfilling the library's commitment to our community.
We have undergone much needed refurbishing this yearwith painting, new carpeting, furniture and window treatments
which was generously funded by the A. P. Kirby, Jr. Foundation, Inc. The new adult "Reading Room" will be fully
operational in the near future and we invite you to stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while you browse or
read a book, newspaper, or magazine.
The Annual Fund Appeal moneys, to which so many in the Mountaintop Area responded last year, were used towards our
operational costs which included purchasing over 1,200 books in all categories, funding online computers for
reference and research, enhancing children's programs, creating a viable Young Adult Section, and working with the
schools to provide resources for our students.
Our goals for the coming year are to increase and update our collection, expand computer access for public use,
enhance children's and young adults' programs, work with the local schools to have the proper resources available
for referenceand research, and provide meeting rooms and exhibit space for the general public.
Your annual contribution is a vital part of our funding and we ask you to join us in a partnership that will enable
us to continue to serve our community. Any amount of support will be greatly appreciated - every dollar matters!
