Children ages 3 and older are invited to join in the summer reading fun!

Teens ages 12 & up may join the Metamorphosis @ Your Library Young Adult Summer reading program.

Here's how the Summer Reading Program works!

Registration

Register at the library beginning June 16, 2008 and receive a schedule of the summer activities and a plastic book bag. Fill out the game board to be kept at the library, with your name, address, phone number, grade and school. All books read must be checked out from the M.S. Kirby Library. Game boards must be filled in and completed by Saturday, August 2!

Return your books to the library to get your game board stamped for each category you complete and to record the titles of the books read. As a reading reward, you may receive up to two mini prizes each week, while supplies last.

Beginning Monday, June 16, register to attend programs and activities scheduled to take place June 23 through July 12.

Beginning Monday, July 7, register to attend programs and activities scheduled to take place July 14 through August 6.

Read at least 2 library books per week from the following categories:

* Read a paperback book
* Read a mystery
* Read a book about animals
* Read a non-fiction book
* Read a fiction book
* Read a rhyming book
* Read any book
* Re-read your favorite book
* Read any book... but read in bed!
* Try a downloadable e-audio book
* Read a Caldecott or Newbery
* Borrow a cookbook or craft book and make something Award book
* Using a book, learn three facts about an insect or spider

Closing Activities

Register to attend the closing program to be held on Wednesday, August 6.

Summer Reading Program participants who complete the program by reading 8 books will receive a certificate and a medal and have their name entered in a random drawing for prizes.

Summer Reading Program participants who complete all categories on the game board will receive all of the above, plus their name will be entered into an additional random drawing for prizes!

Review the scheduled activities on the reverse side of this sheet and remember to register for the programs at the time indicated. Children must be the appropriate age in order to attend activities and programs. Call the library at 474-9313 to register for programs or for more information.
